How to request deletion of your PalBet account and data

Request Data Deletion

At PalBet, we respect your privacy and your right to control your personal information. If you wish to delete your account and all associated data, please follow the instructions below.

Important Notice

Data deletion is permanent and cannot be undone. Once your account is deleted, you will lose access to all your wagers, groups, and transaction history.

How to Request Deletion

Step 1: Send an Email Request

Send an email to our data privacy team at:

privacy@palbet.app

Step 2: Include Required Information

Your email must include the following information to verify your identity:

  • Subject Line: "Data Deletion Request"
  • Email Address: The email address associated with your PalBet account
  • Username: Your PalBet username
  • Account Creation Method: How you created your account (Email, Google, or Facebook)
  • Reason (Optional): You may optionally provide a reason for deletion

Hello PalBet Support Team,

I would like to request the deletion of my PalBet account and all associated data.

Account Details:

- Email: [Your email address]

- Username: [Your username]

- Account Created Via: [Email/Google/Facebook]

Step 3: Verification and Processing

Once we receive your request:

  1. Verification: We will verify your identity using the information provided. We may ask for additional verification if needed.
  2. Processing Time: Your request will be processed within 30 days of verification.
  3. Confirmation: You will receive a confirmation email once your data has been deleted.

What Data Will Be Deleted?

When you request data deletion, the following information will be permanently removed:

  • Your account profile (name, username, email, bio, avatar)
  • All wagers you created or participated in
  • Your group memberships and created groups
  • Transaction history and wallet information
  • Notification preferences and settings
  • All comments and interactions on the platform

Data Retention Notice

Some information may be retained for legal and regulatory compliance purposes, including transaction records for accounting and tax purposes, as required by Nigerian law. This data is kept securely and is not accessible or used for any other purpose.

Alternative: Account Deactivation

If you're not sure about permanently deleting your account, you can temporarily deactivate it instead. This allows you to:

  • Hide your profile from other users
  • Prevent new wagers and interactions
  • Reactivate your account at any time

To deactivate your account, log in to PalBet and go to Settings → Account → Deactivate Account.

Facebook Login Users

If you signed up using Facebook, you can also manage your data through Facebook:

  1. Go to your Facebook Settings & Privacy
  2. Click "Settings"
  3. Select "Apps and Websites"
  4. Find PalBet in the list
  5. Click "Remove" to revoke PalBet's access to your Facebook data

Note: Removing PalBet from Facebook will disconnect your account but will not delete your PalBet data. You must still submit a deletion request via email to permanently delete your data.
